25 Days of Christmas: Day 3 - Tis the Season for Giving

One of the things Michael and I try to every year is gave back in some way. We are very fortunate compared to many others and this time of year is so special to us we like to pass our Christmas spirit on. For the past 8 years we've donated to Toys for Tots.

This year we found out about a program with one of our local towns where you could adopt a family and help them give their kids a good Christmas. We helped 6 families this year. What was amazing was that their lists weren't filled with toys or other wants, but necessities like diapers, wipes, underwear, socks, and clothes. I can't imagine not being able to provide my kids with those things. We made sure to provide every essential that was requested, but we also bought each kid a few toys as well.

The toys - the diapers, wipes, etc weren't wrapped

This world has gone crazy with terrorists and mass shootings what seems like every day. But there is still so much good in the world and I feel spreading some light can chase away the dark. So when you are out shopping over the next couple of weeks, if you can spare $5, $10 or $20 to pick up a toy, or food for the food pantry and donate it, you just might make a persons' whole year on Christmas morning.

  1. I love this post. How amazing that you were able to donate to families in need. We as well always make sure to donate, sometimes it's the angel tree at the mall and other times it's the angel tree at our church.

    1. Thank you! It's a great feeling to help people in need. You and Brian both do that every day with your work too so you are constantly giving back!
