Product Review: Shutterfly Pregnancy Journal

I've always been a big fan of Shutterfly. I love their photo books, calendars, Christmas cards etc. I was looking for a way to catalog my pregnancy into a book format. I was going to just put together all of my weekly posts from my blog until I stumbled upon a new line of photo books Shutterfly has introduced called Storytelling. They had a pregnancy journal layout that looks almost like a digital scrapbook with pre-made layouts and decorative elements to add to your pages. I was really impressed with how easy it was to put together and how polished the finished product was compared to just a plain photo book. They have 19 of these new books available right now including one to capture your baby's first year which I have started for Ethan as well.

Here is the cover of my book as well as some of the pages inside. I just love how it came out and I'm so happy I have a record of all of the moments and memories from my pregnancy.

*Disclaimer: I was not compensated for this review in any way, I paid for this book with my own money.

Ethan's first bath

On Monday we were finally able to give Ethan his first bath! He wasn't too happy at first but I think it was mostly because he was hungry. Once we gave him some of his bottle, he was on board with the whole bath thing! I look forward to many more bath times with our little man!

Memorial Day Weekend Recap

We had a wonderful and relaxing Memorial Day weekend. Besides the holiday weekend, we were also celebrating our anniversary and Michael's Mom's birthday. On Friday I had my 2 week check up appointment with my OB to check on my incision. Everything is looking great and he told me that I was healing perfectly. I don't have to go back until my 6 week check-up.

The rest of Friday Michael worked and I took care of Mr. Ethan. Friday night we celebrated Michael's Mom's birthday. We headed over to his parents house after Michael was done working. We had pizza for dinner and had fun hanging out with everyone. We also had cake and cookie cake for dessert. We bought Michael's Mom and his Dad for Father's Day a new grill!

Saturday morning we took Ethan to the doctor to get his umbilical cord checked. Most of his cord dried up and fell off last week but there was still a little piece left inside. I had read that if the piece isn't removed it can get infected so I wanted to go see the doctor. Everything was fine, they did have to put a chemical on the remaining piece inside and it was gone in a couple of days.

After the doctor we grabbed some lunch and then I headed out with Ethan to do some shopping. I finally got to drive for the first time in over 2 weeks. It was nice to be out and about on my own without needing any help. I did some clothes shopping since most of my clothes are too big on me. There were some great sales and I got several new pieces for summer. After shopping, I took a nap and when I woke up it was time to get ready and go out for our 4th anniversary dinner. It was our first night out since having Ethan. Michael's Mom came over to watch him and we headed to Wildfire for dinner.

It was nice to have a night out just the two of us and our dinner was amazing. I started the night with my first drink in almost a year. I think I was tipsy after about 3 sips of my pomegranate martini! For dinner I had macadamia nut crusted halibut with asparagus and a twice baked potato. It was way too much food, I couldn't come close to finishing it, but it was delicious! We did share a cookie skillet for dessert which was super yummy too!

After dinner we headed home. Ethan slept the whole time for Grandma so he made her job pretty easy which was nice.

On Sunday we were up early with Ethan so I decided to make us some french toast for breakfast.

After breakfast we ran some errands and then we headed down to see my parents and have lunch with them. They were baby-sitting Lily for the weekend while Arla and Teddy were out of town so we got to spend some time with her too!

We had a great lunch and stayed for a few hours and then it was time to head home. Michael and I were both pretty exhausted from the previous night with Ethan and we both really needed a nap. We came home and slept for a couple of hours. I took my nap with Mr. Peanut!

After we woke up, Michael went and grabbed us some dinner and we just relaxed and watched some tv the rest of the night.

On Memorial Day we didn't have any plans. Michael made us breakfast, I did a few things around the house and I took a morning nap since I was up a few times the night before with Ethan. When I woke up it was lunch time so we went out for lunch to get out of the house. After lunch and a nap we woke up and gave Ethan his first bath! The doctor told us we needed to wait until the little piece of his cord had dissolved and then we could give him a bath.

After his bath, he conked out for a few hours and we just relaxed. For dinner I made one of our summertime favorites, a sub sandwich.

We had some dinner, played with Ethan, watched some tv and just relaxed. It was a great ending to a wonderful weekend. I hope all of you had a great Memorial Day weekend as well!

Celebrating 4 Years of Marriage!

Four years ago, I married my best friend. I'm more in love now than I was then. It's hard to imagine what my life was like before he was in it. It seems like we've been together so much longer than 6 years, and I mean that in the best way possible.

We are best friends, a team, true partners and our ultimate goal is to make each other happy every day. I couldn't ask for a better man to call my husband. Michael is truly the most loving, generous, caring, loyal, and selfless person I know. And now seeing him as a father just melts my heart. I know he will be such a great example for our son to grow up with.

Happy Anniversary, my love. I love you forever, ever.
