California trip recap 8: Drive from Monterey to San Francisco

After spending the night in Monterey. We got up bright and early to finish our drive to San Francisco. It was about a 2 hour drive. It was a totally different drive than driving through the mountains toward Monterey. For a long time we drove through mostly farmland. We drove through Dole's farms and watched workers hand picking strawberries in fields that seemed to go on forever. We also drove through miles and miles of artichoke fields. It was really neat.

About an hour into the drive, the terrain changed again. We started heading into mountains and seaside cliffs, on the drivers side and forests on the right, it was amazing.

We needed to make a pit stop so we stopped at Waddell Beach at Big Basin Redwoods State Park. It was beautiful. We watched some surfers try to catch some waves, picked up some rocks from the beach and just enjoyed the view before getting back on the road.

After our beach stop we got back on the road. We were getting very close to San Francisco! We decided we were going to drive straight through the city and make our way to the Golden Gate Bridge.
