A small break in the Halloween fun to celebrate my little boy, back to Halloween tomorrow I promise!
Only 1 month until you are a year and a half, how did that happen little man?!! I feel like you have changed so much this month. For one, you are running everywhere! You have one one mode and it's GO GO GO! Sometimes it seems like your feet can't keep up with how fast you want to go. You don't want to be held much anymore, you want to be down running around.

It's officially Fall and we have kicked off the start of all of our fun family outings. The first was a trip to the apple orchard. Last year you were only 4 months old so you didn't get to actively participate. It was so fun to have you running around this year. You had a ball picking the apples off the trees and sampling them too! It was such a fun day.
Another fun outing we did this month was visiting the fire house for an open house. We checked out all the big trucks and you had fun ringing the bell. I love doing things like this with you because you get so excited and say "Wow!" It's so fun seeing things through your eyes.
My favorite this month has been doing a weekly craft with you. I had so many ideas pinned on Pinterest I thought it would be fun to see if we could do them with you. I wasn't sure if you would have any interest but you totally love it! Apparently you got the crafting gene from your Mama because you are so good at it! Every time you see me pull out the blue crafting mat you get excited because you know we are going to craft something. You absolutely love to paint and you are getting really good at gluing things down too. I am going to have to come up with some more fun crafting ideas for November and December too!
Some other fun things that have happened this month but I don't have pictures of them. One, you got two of your bottom molars! We were at the doctors and you were crying and Daddy spotted one and then the next week the other one popped through. I think the top ones are still trying to come through and your canines too because you are a drool machine.
Two, you are doing a hilarious crazy dance. You stand in one place and stomp your feet really fast. It is so funny. You love to do it when you have shoes on so you can hear the sound it makes. You love music and love to dance when you hear it.
Three, you are are so chatty and are starting to say more and more words. Your favorite new word is "this." You point to something you want and say it over and over. My favorite new words you say are "choo choo" and "shoes." It sounds so cute and sweet when you say them. You are also obsessed with watching birds fly in the sky and you say "bird, bird." You try and repeat words we say and sometimes it sounds right and sometimes it doesn't. We can tell that you are trying so hard to communicate with us. The great thing is that you understand so much. We ask you to do simple tasks and you can do them. You can't say animal sounds yet, but if we ask you to get an animal by its sound you go and get it and you can point them out in books. We are also working on body parts. You know head, mouth and belly button and we are working on eyes, ears and nose.
You are such a good helper and you want to be involved in whatever we are doing. You help us close cabinet doors, refrigerator doors, and drawers. You push chairs in too. Now we need to work on putting toys away! You even helped me decorate the Halloween tree with the ornaments. I never thought you would be gentle enough or understand what we were doing, but you totally proved me wrong. You were so excited to be a part of it and so proud when you hung an ornament on the tree it was so cute!
Your weight and height haven't changed, you are 27.5 pounds and just under 36" tall. You are wearing size 4 diapers, size 18 month and 18-24 month clothes but I'm buying all 24 month and 2T clothes for Winter. Your feet had a growth spurt. After always being on the small side you are now wearing size 7 shoes! Your eating seems to be getting better but every day is different. You still love your fruit and pasta the most. You don't like meat very much but you will eat fish and you randomly like Canadian bacon. Your favorite snacks are pirate's booty and spinach garlic crackers.
Ethan, I say it every month, but you really are the best little boy we could have ever asked for. You are just so much fun and the excitement you have for everything is contagious. I love seeing your face light up when you experience something for the first time. I can't wait to experience more fun holiday events with you over the next couple of months. We love you so much little man and we can't wait to see all the amazing things you will be doing next month!
