Well sometimes things don't always go as planned. Last night we headed up to Vernon Hills to have dinner and go to a drive-thru lighting display called Winter Wonderland. We had a yummy sushi dinner at our favorite place, we also discovered Ethan can drink through a straw! He had his first taste of just water. He freaked out at first because it was cold, but he was sucking through the straw like a pro!

After dinner we headed to the lights. Ethan was excited to see all the pretty lights! We went to Starbucks and got some hot cocoa for the ride.
Unfortunately hundreds of other people had the same idea as us. The line of cars was insane and not moving. We waited for about an hour and we didn't get anywhere. We had about a 2 hour wait ahead of us and Ethan was starting to get restless. We decided we had to turn back home. We got out of line and drove past and we got a glimpse of the display. It looked really cool. Hopefully we can try again on a weeknight after Christmas or we will definitely go on a weeknight next year.
