25 Days of Christmas: Day 12 - Ethan's World: 7 Months

7 months peanut! You are so much fun and full of joy! You are sitting all on your own, you rarely tip over any more. It's nice not having to worry about you flopping on your face! You love playing with your toys and its so much fun to watch you. Your favorites right now are your 3 sets of stacking rings, blocks, links, and your cash register. You put everything in your mouth but that's probably because you finally got some teeth this month! You woke up the day after your 6 month birthday with a tiny white bud popping up from your gum. You just had your second bottom tooth pop through last week. I have to say you have handled teething like a champ so far and I hope it continutes. You have the cutest and sweetest personality and are full of smiles. People are amazed how good of a baby you are. You are just happy to be with us and go wherever we go. You aren't crawling yet but you do army crawl, you drag your little body along using your arms so maybe full on crawling isn't too far off. You like standing too so we've been working on that with you on our ottoman in the living room. Your little legs get stronger every day and you are starting to be able to stand longer. We are having so much fun introducing you to the magic of the Christmas season. I can already tell you love it. As soon as you saw your first Christmas tree, you were in love! We also discovered you love trains. You saw your Grandpa and your Papa's trains and just loved watching them. You were enthralled; I think a train is definitely in your future! We just enjoy being your parents each and every day. You are the sweetest little boy we could have ever asked for and we are soaking up every minute. I love thinking about what you will be doing next month and we can't wait to watch it all happen. We love you so much little man!

Weight:
You weigh 20 pounds 11 oz, the 85th percentile, still our big boy!

Height:
You are 30.5 inches long, our little giant, and still off the charts!

Clothing Size:
You are wearing 9 months and 6 - 12 months clothes but both are getting snug. I think you'll be in 12 months after the 1st of the new year.

Diapers:
You are wearing Pampers size 3 and they are still fitting you well.

Feeding:
You eat your formula on a regular schedule of 5 times a day and 6 oz at each feeding, the same since you were 3 months old. You are eating your purees like a champ and there hasn't been anything you didn't like, which is wonderful. We've moved on to the Stage 2 food blends and you really love them. We've tried puffs and it took you a while to get used to the texture, but now you like them. You are starting to grab them and get them to your mouth too. They don't actually make it in all the time but you are getting the motions down. I think we'll be starting some real food in the next month or so since you are always so interested in what we're eating.

Hair/Eyes:
Your hair is still golden blonde and grows extremely fast. You've had 5 hair cuts so far. Everyone who sees you still comments on your sparkling blue eyes!

Sleep:
Sleep is still wonderful, even with your teeth. You sleep between 10 - 12 hours a night. You go to bed around 7:30 wake up at 5 for a bottle and then wake up for the day around 7 or 7:30. You are still on 3 naps a day but I think we will be down to 2 in the next month. You are happy to sleep and I am so grateful for that.

Fun Stuff You Did This Month:

First Tooth
You officially have teeth! You look so cute with your little white tooth poking through! Your second tooth is there and should be more visible in the next week or so. We've been singing, "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth," to you all month long!

Big Boy Bath
You are officially out of your infant tub. You were just way too tall for it. Both your head and your legs were sticking out from it! We still have to be careful to make sure you don't topple over, but you like sitting up in tub much more than being in the infant tub. You like playing with your bath toys too, you are such a big boy!

Sippy cup and straws
We were at a restaurant and they brought you a kids cup of water when we sat down because everyone thinks you're a lot older than you are. I pushed it aside but then I wondered if you could drink from the straw. I never expected you to do it, but I put the straw in your mouth and you started sucking the water right up. We couldn't believe it, you are really good with medicine droppers but we never expected for you to do it right away. You freaked yourself out at first because it was cold and you had never just tasted water before, but you kept doing it over and over. The next day I took out your sippy cup to try just out of curiosity. Daddy filled it and put it on your high chair tray and you picked it up and brought it to your mouth like you had done it a hundred times, it was crazy! You still are working on holding it in your mouth and drinking but you picked up the concept right away, you're such a smartypants!

First Thanksgiving
We celebrated your first Thanksgiving. You didn't get to eat any of the yummy food of course but you did have 2 containers of sweet potato baby food. I'm sure you will love digging in next year!

First Santa Visit
You got to meet Santa this month! We were so excited for your first visit. I've been waiting so long to have a baby to bring to Santa and it was so surreal actually standing in line waiting. I was actually pretty emotional. I just feel so incredibly lucky and blessed that we get the chance to experience all of these things with you. You were such a good boy, you sat right on Santa's lap and looked around at all of the pretty lights and decorations!

First Zoo Lights
We took you on your 4th zoo visit and first for zoo lights. We went with Grandma, Papa, Arla, Teddy and Lily. It was almost 60 degrees out which is definitely rare for December 1st. We thought for sure you would fall asleep in your stroller like you normally do but you were too busy looking at all of the beautiful lights!
