25 Days of Christmas: Day 7 - Polar Express

Yesterday we took Ethan and Sofia on the Polar Express train ride! We had wanted to do this last year but we were too late to buy tickets. I had no idea you had to buy them in the Summer they go so fast! Ethan and Sofia were excited and looked so cute in their matching reindeer shirts!

We met up with Rich, Tif, Jacob and Makayla so we could all ride the train together. The train was running a little late so we waited in our cars to stay warm. Finally the train pulled in. Ethan was in awe!

It was his first time on the Metra train and he was really excited! He was loving it once we started moving!

Santa was on our train and Ethan wasn't too sure about him. As you can tell in this picture he was keeping his eye on him and was a little tense about it, note the clenched fists! We didn't get a picture with him but there were no tears this year, which is definitely an improvement from last year!

Santa was awesome, he even played the guitar and led everyone in a Christmas carol sing-a-long!

After singing some songs with Santa,one of his elves came through to give each child an official "on the nice list" certificate. Both Ethan and Sofia were on Santa's nice list this year!

Ethan had so much fun riding the train with his cousins. They had a blast together!

After Santa took pictures with all of the children, the elves passed out cookies and milk and they read a couple of Christmas books.

It was so much fun!

We had a great time and Ethan loved it. When we got off the train they had little goody bags for all of the kids as well. Ethan really liked the Christmas sunglasses he got!

We can't wait to do it again next year!
