I was so happy to be home and that the week was behind me. I was also really excited because we were going to a cooking class for date night! Arla and Teddy bought us a gift certificate for the Viking cooking school for Christmas 2 years ago, and we had never used it! We took the "Japanese Steakhouse" course and we made: salad with creamy ginger dressing, teppanyaki shrimp with a soy, ginger sauce, hibachi steak with a mustard sauce, fried rice and topped it off with tangerine sorbet. It was delicious and we had so much fun! Here's some pictures from our class.

Of course there's a beautiful store with lots of things I want!

We had such a great time at the cooking class. We cook together all the time but it was fun to learn some new techniques. It was also really nice to have someone constantly cleaning your work station and have a lot of the prep done. If only we had a sous chef at home! I will definitely be looking into their other classes. We are already talking about taking their sushi course! After our cooking class, we headed home and crashed.
On Saturday we slept in a bit and then I headed to the Wheaton Farmer's Market to pick up our produce for the week. It was really muggy out and looked like it was going to storm bad so I hurried through and got home to pick up Michael and go to breakfast.

After breakfast we headed to Benjamin Moore to check out some paint colors for the house. We have officially decided to hire a painter to paint our hallways and our bedroom. Michael and I decided it was just too big of a job to try to tackle ourselves and it would take many weekends to finish. The painter said he can get it done in 2 days, done!!! We are going with a pewter/silver color for our bedroom and a grey/taupe color for the main hallways. I cannot wait, the hallways really need it. It's going to look so nice.
Later on we made some lunch and just relaxed most of the afternoon. it was really nice!
My two favorite boys!
Saturday night we decided to go out for another date night! We went and had dinner at Cooper's Hawk and it was really good. Michael had the parmesan crusted filet and I had an asian pork tenderloin and noodle dish. After dinner we went to the movie theater. We saw A-Team. It was really good! It was what you expect, lots of action but really funny too!
After dinner and a movie, we came home and just relaxed before crashing. However, we got a really exciting phone call at 11:30 pm that Rich and Tif were headed to the hospital! We were going to be an aunt and uncle in the morning!
On Sunday morning around 7 am we got the call we had been waiting for; Jacob Thomas made his official entrance into the world! He was only 6 pounds, 13 ounces and 20 inches long. He is a little peanut! The worst part was that we couldn't go see him until 11 am! So we went to breakfast and did our grocery shopping to pass the time before we could go meet our first nephew! I took a lot of pictures that I will be putting in a post later this week, but here are a few to tide you over. He is a beautiful baby!!!

Beautiful Baby Jacob!!
After hanging out at the hospital for a few hours we headed home to have lunch and wait for one of our friends Liz to drop off her little girl so she could go meet baby Jacob. They wouldn't allow anyone under 12 on the floor so we offered to babysit for a couple of hours. We had a lot of fun with little Lauren. She is such a happy, pretty little girl.

After Liz came to pick her baby girl up we were on the road again to go celebrate Michael's Grandma's 89th birthday! It was already an exciting day since her great grandson was born on her birthday but we had dinner plans to celebrate her birthday as well. We had dinner at Yu's Mandarin in Schaumburg. It was really good! We ordered a bunch of dinners and passed them around the lazy susan. We capped it off with a Happy Birthday song and some cake and ice cream for Grandma.

Make a wish!
After dinner we headed home and we are going to just relax the rest of the night. We have had a busy day! I am really looking forward to this week though since I only have to work Monday - Wednesday because Arla and Teddy are getting married next weekend! I have hair appointments and nail appointments on Thursday and Friday and the rehearsal dinner is also on Friday before the big day on Saturday!
I hope everyone had a great weekend, I know we did!
