Master Bedroom Re-decorating Project

I mentioned in our weekend recap post that we are having the house painted next week. We are painting all of our hallways, which is a lot since our house is 3 stories and our master bedroom. Along with painting our master bedroom we are going to do some re-decorating as well. I am really excited about it; I love a new decorating project!

First the hallways, we selected Benjamin Moore's Silver Fox.

We thought that it was a nice neutral. It's a grey/taupe color. We thought it would coordinate nicely with our living room color which is Behr's Cup of Cocoa below.

As far as re-decorating the hallways, we are re-thinking some of the things we have hanging on the wall. It's funny when you move in you just want to put things on the wall so it doesn't look so stark, but once you live with it for a while, sometimes it doesn't end up being exactly how you want it.

We are also going to do something different with our entry way. Currently we have a bench with a coat rack/shelf above.

It's not the nicest piece of furniture and it is falling apart so we are going to do something different there. I am on the hunt for a table and a standing coat rack for that area now.

The biggest changes however will be in our bedroom. We never really decorated much in our master bedroom when we moved in. We bought all new furniture and bedding and hung a few things on the wall but that was about it. So we are going to decorate it for real this time.

Here are some before pictures of our master bedroom.

The paint we have selected for our master bedroom is Benjamin Moore's Pewter.

We thought this color was chic and sophisticated and would look great with our espresso furniture and pewter bedding. We are also going to introduce pops of color with yellow and white accents. I am going to change out the chocolate velvet curtains and look for something in white or yellow along w
ith some throw pillows for the bed. I also found some great artwork on Etsy that I am excited about. We went shopping and found a chair for our bedroom. Michael has really been wanting a recliner and we finally found one we both liked, now we just have to wait the 6-8 weeks for it to get here!

This is the style of the recliner but it will have different fabric

This is the fabric of the chair. We were lucky to find a white, grey, yellow and black print!

We are going to re-purpose a few of the items already in the room as well. One of those items is the mirror below.

I had this mirror in my condo in the city and it's one of my favorite pieces. It is not going to show up too well on the pewter walls though. Michael had the great idea to paint it white and paint the small circles on the spokes yellow. I think it will look really great and add a pop of color above our bed.

I'm really excited to get things started on our master bedroom re-design! I will definitely be taking pictures of the before and after shots, along with our re-purposing projects. Stay tuned!
