I found these two pictures on Pinterest as inspiration for this craft.
Over the past few weeks at the Morton Arboretum we've been picking up pine cones, leaves, and acorns to use. Ethan had lots of fun pine cone hunting!
I took the items we found and got some other general craft supplies together to make our little critters. Also the blue mat is a great new thing I found called the Mess Mat. I got it on Zulily. It's a silicone mat that wipes clean and rolls for storage. I thought it would be great for craft projects, Easter egg dying, anything messy. It worked great!

Ethan had fun playing with all the nature things and helped pick the leaves and feathers for our critters.
We made a little pine cone owl and pine cone butterfly. I think they came out really cute and were super easy! I think we might make these again since I still have some things left and there will be really colorful leaves very soon to add.

ReplyDeleteHarry would love it! The craft mat is awesome I would definitely recommend it. It rolls up really small for storage too.
