The weather has been amazing so we've been spending lots of time outdoors and you love it. You are our little nature lover and I'm so happy you enjoy being outside. Whether we are at a park, the Arboretum or just outside our house you love to explore. You point at things, pick up leaves and sticks and just marvel at everything around you. I'm so excited for all of our fun Fall activities to see you experience them again but this time through the eyes of a toddler!
You had another first this month, we went and explored the DuPage Children's Museum. I've been waiting for a rainy Friday to take you there and you absolutely loved it. You loved being able to just walk around and explore things on your own. Your favorite things were the glow sticks, music room, trains, water table and wind tunnel. I think we will be spending lots of time there when the weather gets cold.
A new trick you've been mastering is going up and down the stairs. I have to say I like this new found talent because you are one heavy little boy! You have so much fun going up and you are quickly learning how to go down properly as well. I'm glad that you are learning this too because we have two flights of stairs in the house and they've always made me worry. I can breathe a little easier knowing you know what to do. But that doesn't mean the gates are going away just yet mister!
You have a new obsession with balloons! If we are anywhere and you see a balloon, that pointy finger is out and you are saying, "this, this" because you want one so bad. We bought you a Monster's Inc. balloon and you carried it around the house for a week!
We went to another new event with you called Touch a Truck. There were so many different types of trucks, cars and construction equipment. You had fun checking everything out but it was pretty loud with lots of sirens and horns going off so we weren't there too long.
No new teeth have popped through but I know some are on their way. I'm guessing either your canines or molars are working their way through because you have been drooling and chewing on things like crazy. I haven't weighed you since your doctor's appointment two months ago but I really think you've had a growth spurt. You are looking taller and feeling heavier. We will find out at your 15 month appointment this week.
No new words this month but you are still a chatty little boy. We are working on getting you off your pacifier except when sleeping so you are talking even more. You are still sleeping great, we are so lucky. You sleep 12 hours almost to the minute every night. During the day you take about 4 -5 hours of naps. If we are outside a lot you always take longer naps from wearing yourself out!
You are definitely starting to get in the testing us phase. You hate being told "no" and usually start to cry or even have a little tantrum. Oh toddlerhood is here! You are usually only like that though when you are tired but now with you being a full-time walker you aren't big on sitting or being strapped into things so you have mini meltdowns sometimes when you want to just walk on your own.

Food you have good days and bad days, sometimes you eat a ton and some days you eat hardly anything. You do seem to be eating more now that you are walking. The good thing at least is that you eat all healthy things. You love pretty much every fruit and you still hate any type of sweets. You have really started to like peanut butter lately too.
Every day with you Ethan is so much fun. We love watching you learn new things all the time. It's so much fun to experience life through your eyes and the joy you have as you discover the world around you. We love you so much little man and we can't wait to see all the amazing things you will be up to next month!
