Weekend Recap

We had such a fun weekend! Prepare for a lot of pictures! On Friday after work we headed over to Rich and Tif's to hang out with them, Jacob and Ken. Michael's mom also came over to have some pizza and play with Jacob. We just hung out and talked and headed home around 10.

Saturday, Michael and I got up and went to breakfast and ran some errands before heading home. Then we decided we wanted to move some furniture around. We've been saying for a while that there is too much furniture in our eat-in kitchen area. It's hard to move around because the table is so close to the island. You can kind of see how crowded it is in the picture below. It's not the best vantage point, but you get the idea.

So we made the executive decision to sell the table and chairs and hutch and move our bar height dining room table into the kitchen. We were pretty surprised how much bigger it looked. It's so open now!

Since we moved the dining room set into the kitchen, we now have an empty dining room. So we did some shopping and found a great deal on a new set. It's almost exactly like the set in the kitchen but a little darker stain, the backs on the chairs are a little different and the table is regular height instead of bar height. The new set is being delivered on Friday and I can't wait to see it all set-up!

After doing all of our re-arranging we headed out to Lombard to meet up with Rich, Tif and Ken to do some shopping and have some dinner. We walked around Yorktown mall and then had dinner at Flattop Grill. It was yummy as always.

Today we were up and out early. We had some breakfast and then headed to the grocery store to pick up groceries for the week. We went home, unloaded everything and then we were headed to go apple picking! We went with Rich, Tif, Jacob, Ken, Tif's mom and Michael and Rich's mom. We went to All Seasons Apple Orchard in Woodstock. We went there last year as well. It was a beautiful day. We had a great time and it was so much easier to pick the apples this year. Last year we went a lot later in the season and there were not many apples left. This year we were done picking in like 15 minutes. Here are a bunch of pictures from our day at the orchard.

After the apple orchard we headed back to Rich and Tif's to watch the Bear's game. We started the season off right and had a great win! They actually looked pretty good today too, especially the defense. Let's hope it's going to be a good season. Even Jacob was excited about the win!

Another great weekend in the books, next weekend is Pierogi Fest! Have a great week everyone!
