My sister Arla and our newest niece, Violet
When we got off the wagon we were standing there listening to a worker from the orchard tell us where all of the different apples were and all of the sudden I heard Ethan say, "OW," and whine a little. I look and he's swatting at his face and he had gotten stung by a bee right next to his ear. I couldn't believe it. I was even more surprised that he wasn't screaming. Michael is allergic to bees so we were concerned that Ethan could be too but luckily it wasn't swelling and he was completely calm. The bees were terrible in the orchard so we picked very quickly so Michael didn't take any chances.
My little trooper post bee sting
We stuffed our bags full of delicious honeycrisp apples and of course Ethan wanted to try and carry the bags!
The bees were so bad that Michael took our apples to our car and stayed there so he didn't have to worry about getting stung. Ethan and I went with everyone else to take the kids to do a bunch of the other activities they had.
First up was the cow train, the kids loved it, they went twice!
Then we did some swinging!
And then we headed to bounce on the jumping pillow. I was excited for Ethan to do this because he has been too little the past two years. He had so much fun. He had trouble staying on his feet but he found out it was just as fun to sit or lay on the pillow and be bounced around by everyone else. Makayla joined Ethan in this same technique. They all had a ball!
Then we went to the petting zoo to pet some goats and sheep.
Finally we went to a pumping station where they do rubber duck races.
We said our goodbyes and headed home. Ethan definitely had fun because he took an almost 4 hour nap when we got home!
Despite the bees, it looks like you guys had a great day! And those apples are HUGE!! I can't wait to go apple picking with the girls and my hubby, hopefully soon!
