You are crawling like a champ now. You can crawl on your knees and you will choose that method for short distances, but when you want to go across the room, you always choose the army crawl. You rarely sit still anymore. You can climb in and out of your ball pit now and it is hilarious to watch. You are so mobile that you are playing with your toys less because you would rather be moving and exploring. You love the kitchen cabinets, which we had to lock so you don't pinch your fingers. You also just started cruising this past week. You can transfer yourself from one thing to another. I'm sure it won't be long before you are walking along the couch and ottoman like it's no big deal! I don't think you will be walking by your birthday, but Daddy is betting against me and says that you will. Maybe your first steps will be on the beach!
You are really loving your books right now, especially the touch and feel ones. You love opening and closing the book, turning the pages and feeling the different textures. You look at each page so intently, absorbing all the colors, shapes and pictures of the pages.
Ethan, every day you surprise Daddy and I with something new. You are always just the happiest, most fun little boy all the time. As you develop and learn new things, we are just in awe of you. We are the luckiest parents alive to have you for our son. We can't wait to celebrate your first year of life next month at your birthday party. We also have our first family vacation to look forward to and celebrating your actual birthday on the beach!
Weight:
You weigh 23 pounds 8oz, the 87th percentile.
Height:
You are 33 inches tall, still our little giant!
Clothing Size:
You are wearing 12 months and 12-18 months, and they are still fitting you well.
Diapers:
You are wearing Pampers size 4.
Feeding:
You are an eating machine! You are pretty much eating what we eat except for the foods on the restricted list. You love everything we put in front of you. You still eat pureed packets for snacks and to accompany meals when we don't have fresh veggies. You can put down some food, you ate an entire grilled cheese sandwich for lunch one day, we couldn't believe it. Just when we think you are done you keep eating! You are constantly moving so I'm guessing that's why you need all of the food you are powering down.
Hair/Eyes:
Your hair is golden blonde and I can't wait to see how light it gets on vacation. We still give you a haircut every 2 weeks. Everyone who sees you still comments on your beautiful, sparkling blue eyes!
Sleep:
Sleep has been amazing, you are sleeping about 12 hours at night. It's rare that you wake up at all at night anymore, if you do, it's probably because of a tooth. You are still doing great with taking 2 naps too. You nap from 9-10:30 in the morning and 1-3:00 in the afternoon. You always wake up happy, smiling, giggling and ready to play. You poke your little head up when I walk into the room and always greet me with a smile.
Words:
I never thought I would have a big update to this section this month, but you are just amazing us with your speech. You followed up "boo" and "Dada" from last month with "Mama," which was the best ever! And then all of the sudden you added, "dog," "bye bye," and "ball" to your list! You are constantly talking and babbling, it's pretty surprising especially since you are a boy. You definitely take after your Mama in this department! It's just amazing to see how rapidly you are developing and learning on a daily basis.
Fun Stuff You Did This Month:
First Easter
We celebrated your last first holiday. You had a busy and super fun Easter. We dyed Easter eggs, made Easter crafts, you opened your Easter basket and then we celebrated with our families. It was a beautiful day and you were the cutest little boy anyone had ever seen! You looked so dapper in your Easter best!
Easter Bunny
You met the Easter Bunny for the first time this month. You were a little more skeptical with the bunny compared to Santa. You were fine when I first put you on his lap, but then you looked up and saw his big, furry bunny head, looked at me, and started crying!
First Swing
We had a beautiful day which has been rare so far this Spring so we spent as much time outside as possible. We thought we would bring you to a local park to have you take your first ride on a swing. You absolutely loved it, you were squealing with glee and smiling from ear to ear!
Bubbles
On the same day as your first swing we also played with bubbles, another first. You loved them!
