Pumpkin Carving 2012
As I mentioned in my weekend recap,on Friday we had a Halloween family fun day! We did a Halloween craft and carved our pumpkins too! I was so excited to carve pumpkins with our little boy this year. Last year I was pregnant and Ethan was just the size of a plum in my belly and we didn't know we would have this amazing little boy a year later.
2011 Pumpkin Carving - Plum-sized Ethan in my belly!
1 year later, a 19 lb, 29 inch sweet boy excited to get started for pumpkin carving 2012!
I knew I wanted to do something Mickey related for Ethan since he loves the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse so much. We used mini pumpkins as Mickey's ears and Michael carved the face. Ethan supervised to make sure Daddy did it right! Ethan had fun playing with Porkchop's pumpkin and the mini pumpkins for Mickey's ears while he hung out in his high chair.
Daddy did a great job and Mickey turned out great!
I worked on my polka dot pumpkin while Michael was doing the Mickey pumpkin for Ethan.
After he was done with the Mickey pumpkin, Michael started working on his own and I worked on a pumpkin for Porkchop.
I think Porkchop approved of his bone pumpkin, it was just his size!
Michael did a bunch of graphic designs on his pumpkin, everything from flames to mustaches to our initials!

Weekend Recap
We had a great weekend! On Friday we had a family day and did some fun Halloween projects. We did a Halloween craft and carved our pumpkins. I'm going to do a full post this week about our pumpkin carving, but here's a sneak peek!
We also went and saw a movie; we saw Argo. We can not recommend it enough, it was excellent! It's an amazing story, its hard to believe it actually happened! Ben Affleck is excellent in it and he also directed it. If you have a chance to see it, do it, you won't be disappointed.
Friday night we met Michael's parents for dinner. After dinner we headed home, I put Ethan to bed and then Michael and I just relaxed and watched some tv.
On Saturday, we went out for breakfast before heading out to Boo at the Zoo! Ethan is getting much better sitting in the highchairs at restaurants.
It was a little chilly when we first got to the zoo but in the sun it wasn't bad. Ethan was nice and toasty warm in his lion costume!
Our first stop was the carousel. Ethan had not taken his first ride in our previous visits so I thought we would make it official! He actually really liked it. We chose the giraffe to ride of course and he loved feeling the texture of the giraffe and carousel pole.
After the carousel ride we started walking around to see all of the animals. They gave the sloth bears pumpkins and they were busy breaking into them and eating when we got there.
We walked around and saw lots of animals and made our way to the other side of the zoo to see our favorite, the giraffes. They were inside this time since it was a little chilly out and I couldn't believe how close they were. They're so beautiful.
We had a great time, I'm looking forward to going back at Christmastime to see all of the holiday light displays! After the zoo we stopped for lunch and then headed home. I put the little man down for a nap and then we started a new project. Michael ordered a new desk for his office and it was quite the undertaking to put together. We made great progress while Ethan slept. It helped that he napped for three and a half hours!
On Sunday we didn't really do a whole lot, we finished up a craft we had started on Friday. I played with Ethan and did his laundry and we also worked on finishing Michael's desk. We didn't do football Sunday with Rich, Tif and Ken this week since they weren't feeling well and Ethan still has a cough. We watched football and we actually got the rest of Michael's desk finished. He loves it! He has so much additional storage and work space now.He looks like a powerful CEO behind that desk!
Sunday night we were pretty tired so we didn't feel like cooking. We got some pizza and just relaxed and watched more football to end the day.
