Weekend Recap

We had a pretty fabulous weekend, it was busy and we had a lot of fun. Prepare yourself for a lot of pictures!

On Friday after Michael was done with work, we went out to dinner for some sushi. After dinner we headed over to Rich and Tif's to drop off a few things for Jacob's party the next day. We hung out for a while and then headed home to put the little man to bed.

On Saturday we were up early and I made pasta salad to bring to Jacob's party and we also made chex mix and dipped cake pops for Father's Day the next day. After we were done in the kitchen we got ready and then headed out to Jacob's 2nd birthday party.

Jacob's party was so cute and so much fun. Tif planned a Cars theme party for Jacob since he is obsessed with both of the movies. Everything from the decorations down to the dessert was Cars themed. He is a very lucky little boy! Here are a bunch of pictures from the day.

Ethan was pretty pooped as you can see in the picture above! We headed home from the party and relaxed the rest of the night.

On Sunday morning, I was up early with Ethan so I went downstairs to make Michael his favorite thing for Father's Day breakfast, blueberry muffins

Ethan got Daddy a custom iPhone case from Shutterfly with pictures on the back. Daddy loved it!

After breakfast we just relaxed, gave Ethan a bath and then got ourselves ready to head to Arlington racetrack. Ethan was all dressed up as Daddy's caddy for Father's Day!

Before we left, I wanted to take some family pictures of Michael's first Father's Day. It seems like just yesterday we were taking our maternity pictures in the same spot!

At Arlington, we were meeting Michael's parents, Rich, Tif, Jacob and Makayla and Tif's whole family for a day at the races. This is the third Father's Day we've spent there and it's always really fun. We had the most beautiful day for it too. We were in the shade and there was a beautiful breeze blowing through, it was perfect.

The very first race we bet on a horse for Ethan and it won! We were off to a great start. We actually one the first four races and lost the last two. Here's Ethan's horse, Crosseyed Mary, crossing the finish line.

We were worried how well Ethan would do and how long we would be able to stay, but he did great and slept through most of it. He's such a good baby, he just goes with the flow.

It was a great family fun day. I think after 3 years we can start calling it a tradition. We were already talking about next year. Let's just hope we continue to get great weather like we had yesterday.
