Easter Weekend Recap

We had a great family-filled Easter weekend! I was off of work Thursday and Friday so it was even better! We met with a potential pediatrician and loved him so Ethan officially has his doctor. That was the last big detail we needed to nail down. On Friday after Michael was done with work, we headed to Rich and Tif's to hangout and go to dinner. We went to Bulldog's again and it was pretty yummy. It's becoming our new spot. After dinner we hung out with the kids and the guys played with the craps table they built last weekend. After the kids went to bed, Tif and I went out to join them and played a few rounds before Michael and I called it a night. Mama gets pretty tired earlier these days!

On Saturday we got up and had some breakfast and then we colored Easter eggs! I can't wait until Ethan is here to do all of these fun things with him!

And what happened to all of those pretty colored eggs? Well I added some celery and fresh chives, some mayo and spices and voila, egg salad!

It was very yummy for lunch. It's my favorite part of coloring Easter eggs!

After lunch we went for a walk around the neighborhood and then I took a little power nap for an hour. When I woke up it was time to shower and get ready to celebrate Easter with Michael's family.

Michael's parents set up an Easter egg hunt in the living room for Jacob. He loved it! Every time he would find an egg and put it in his basket he would clap, it was hilarious!

Uncle Michael helped Jacob go through all of his loot

We had a really nice time and lots of yummy food. All the kids made out with their Easter baskets. Even Ethan got 2 Easter baskets! None of my pictures turned out for that part of the night though.

On Sunday we headed to my parents house for Easter brunch with my Mom's side of the family. We got there a little early to help out and we got to take some family pictures outside.

Miss Lily has arrived!

After taking some pictures we just relaxed for a while before everyone else arrived. Lily watched some cartoons with Papa and Arla opened Lily's Easter basket that we got for her.

Sadly when everyone else arrived, my camera was put away so I could help my Mom get all of the food finished cooking and out for the brunch buffet to begin. All of the food was so good, nobody left hungry! We hung out at my parents a little while longer after everyone left and then we headed home. We just relaxed and watched some tv. It was a great weekend and a great Easter. Next weekend we are celebrating lots of birthdays, Tif's, my Mom's and Teddy's. It's crazy to think we'll be celebrating Ethan's birth day in a few weeks as well! I hope all of you had a wonderful Easter and a great weekend.

This week I'm...

Loving: That I have a 4-day weekend!
Disliking: The amount of things I need to get done in the next 3 weeks at work.
Craving: More warmth, we were so spoiled with those 80's.
Hoping: The next few weeks go by fast, I'm dying to meet our little man.
Reading: Lots of new recipes, we need some new ideas.
Watching: The Cubs blow their home opener. Better luck next year Cubs.
Listening to: Ethan's pediatrician and the head baby nurse talk us through everything we need to know when our little guy arrives.
Looking forward to: Celebrating Easter with our families this weekend!
Hearing buzz about: Bill Murray's memorable first pitch at the Cubs opener yesterday!

Baby Dworianyn Bump Watch: 35 Weeks

How far along? 35 weeks, 2 days
Size of the baby? A butternut squash, 18.5 inches, 5.8 pounds
Maternity clothes? Still in my regular clothes, which I'm still amazed by.
Weight gain? Well I was up 3lbs at the doctor last week but it came right back off this week, -28 total.
Gender? A little prince.
Movement? He is kicking less and rolling more, my whole belly moves in waves.
Sleep? Sleeping pretty well
Food Cravings? No real cravings, I think that phase has passed.
What I miss? Absolutely nothing, just getting so excited to meet our little man.
Symptoms? His crazy kicks and a growing belly.
Best moments of the week? Hearing that if our little man stays breech he will be here in less than a month!
What is baby doing this week? This week our little boy's ears are now fully developed and he responds best to high pitched sounds. His kidneys are also fully developed and his liver can now process some waste products. His little man parts should now be in place as well. Most of his physical development is now complete and he will spend the next few weeks putting on weight.

Ethan's Nursery: The Final Reveal

Well we are officially calling Ethan's nursery finished. We might tweak a thing here or there along the way but it is 95% there. I am in love with his room, it might be my favorite room in our house. I can't help but stop and stare every time I walk past it. I can't wait until our little boy is here and is sleeping in there. I just know he's going to love his room as he gets older. It's amazing how my original vision for the nursery is almost exactly like the finished product.

So onto the pictures of the final product. Welcome to baby land!

Weekend Recap

I can't believe it's already April, this year is just flying by. We had a very relaxing weekend, it was really nice. We need to enjoy these last month of just Michael and I before our little man makes his arrival. Speaking of our little man, on Friday I had a doctor's appointment and everything is looking good. His heart rate was good and all of my numbers were good as well. Ethan is still breech and if he's still breech in 2 weeks, we will be scheduling a c-section for around 39 weeks. We'll see how everything plays out but its pretty exciting to think that he could be here in 4 short weeks! We are ready for him to come, his nursery is complete all of his clothes are washed, our bags our packed for the hospital and all of the things we got at our baby shower are put together and waiting. We also have his car seat ready to go in my car.

After my doctor's appointment it was back to work the rest of the day. Friday night we had dinner and hung out with Rich, Tif, the kids and Ken.

On Saturday we got up and had a lazy morning. We just relaxed, had some breakfast and watched tv. We met up with Rich, Tif, the kids and Ken for some lunch and then headed back to Rich and Tif's. For some reason the guys decided they wanted to build a craps table so they headed to get supplies. Tif and I hung out  and played with the kids while they worked. In a couple of hours they had a working craps table. They were pretty proud of their handiwork!

We couldn't stay and play too long since we were watching Miss Lily. We headed down to Arla and Teddy's so they could have a date night out.

Lily is loving her exersaucer right now. She loves to make the music and lights turn on in the little lizard. She was happy as a clam in here. We played for an hour or so and then it was time for a bottle and bed. She passed out right away like a good girl. We talked with Arla and Teddy for a while when they got home and then we were on our way home.

On Sunday we were supposed to take our maternity pictures, but it was pretty crappy out so we're going to hold off a couple of weeks and hope for better weather. We had some breakfast and just relaxed before heading out to do some shopping. I had some returns at Carters that I needed to bring in from my shower. I also had a 25% coupon and some gift cards burning a hole in my pocket. I of course found plenty of cute things for our little man and I didn't spend a dime thanks to sales and gift cards!

After shopping and then some lunch we headed home and both took a nap. After we woke up we headed to Whole Foods to do our grocery shopping for the week. When we got home and started putting things away, Michael got the cleaning bug and we did a clean sweep in the kitchen. We cleaned out the fridge, freezer, pantry and almost all of our kitchen cabinets! We needed to make some space for Ethan items like bottles, pacifiers, spoons, bowls, etc. Once we got started we just kept going cabinet by cabinet.

All cleaned out and ready for Ethan's items!

We still have 6 cabinets left and we have 2 closets we want to clean and organize before Ethan comes. So hopefully we'll be able to tackle those this week and this weekend. I'm off of work on Thursday and Friday this week so I should be able to get it done. After our cleaning spree we had some dinner and just relaxed the rest of the night. I'm very excited to only have to work 3 days this week and for Easter next weekend! We have lots of festivities planned for next weekend. I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend and have a great week ahead!
